Ok, have ya'll heard of the pinterest? I'm late jumping onto this bandwagon but let me tell you, I have jumped with reckless abandon. It all started when Kristin posted what she did with her kids on their last day of summer.She got her inspiration for this awesome piece of art from pinterest!

 I've spent the past two hours searching the DIY section alone. There is still a whole 'nother world of pinterest that I have left untouched!

Seriously, I am AMAZED at how creative people are. Blown away. I love, love, love making my gifts and I think that this website will come in super handy around Christmas time!

Knock Off Wood

I love to create things. LOVE. Whether it be gluing, sewing, sawing, planting, decorating, or hammering. I love it.

I have only worked with wood once, when I built kind of sort of helped my dad build a book case for the corner of my room. Which, turned out very well, might I add. I loved working with wood though. There is something empowering about taking a saw, hammer, drill, and raw wood and turning it into something functional.

Ana at Knock Off Wood makes amazing creations. The best part is she FREELY posts the plans on her blog for everyone else to make them too! Anyone who has a craftroom label of stuff you can make just for your CRAFTROOM is evidence enough of how awesome they are.

Seriously, when I move into my own place I'm not buying any furniture. I'm making it ALL. Like this awesome entry bench and shelf. And this  would make a great little wrapping station, don't you think? I can just imagine putting rolls of wrapping paper in one of the bottom drawers, maybe keeping one of the top shelves full of sale items in case you need a last minute gift. Get a dowel or a bar that you could put in the back of the open space and hang spools of ribbon. Then you would have all that surface area to wrap. Oh, the possibilties are endless! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this kitchen island. Doesn't it make you want to make dinner for your best friend and have them pull up a bar stool and chat with you?

WFMW: cute candle holder showy offy things

So, I have no idea what to call these things, but they're super cute! I got the idea from Kimba, although she used hers as a center piece and I used mine just as decoration. (oh. my. gosh. She has some CUTE ideas!) When I first saw the pictures I wasn't that thrilled, but then when I scrolled down and saw the fall ideas I fell in love.

So, I took a trip down to the 99 cent store and bought some glasses and candles. I had to go to the grocery store for my lil squashes though. I love it! Isn't it cute!? It's a bit plain, but I like it. :)

WFMW: Spray Adhesive

Ya'll, I have discovered spray adhesive. It is marvelous. Wonderful. Stupendous. And it works for me.

It all started when my friend Charlie was going to be leaving for Kenya on a mission trip. Having been on mission trips myself I know how crucial it was for me to write down when and where I saw God moving and the scriptures that had really spoken to me. When I returned to the states satan tried to whisper his lies in my ear. "God didn't use you. You're imagining what you wanted to have happened. You are nothing. You were worthless."

Having gone through that and knowing what a blessing and comfort that journal was to me on my return trips I wanted to supply my friend with something that might help him. All I wanted was a nice journal that wasn't girly. Do you know how hard it is to find a journal without flowers on it? C'mon now, men don't write? After searching numerous places I decided to decorate a journal. If i couldn't find what I wanted I'd make it myself. I found a journal that was hardbound, but it was ugly as sin. So then I decided that if I could find a map of Africa and paste it over the cover that would be neat. I didn't want to use glue because that tends to make paper wrinkle. That's when I discovered this.

It worked GREAT! I cut out the map so that Africa would be the cover. I sprayed the back of the map with spray adhesive, lined it up on the journal, wrapped the edges over carefully and WALAH! It worked really well. I personalized it with letter stickers by putting his name on. Since then I have made two more journals. I can't wait to see what other uses there are for spray adhesive!
